Show up with the right gun, the right gear, and enough skill for the level you booked.
What you bring
Bringing your own firearm is highly recommended. For Permit to Carry, a 9mm or .22 handgun can be provided at no charge if you need one. You always bring the ammunition. Everyone brings eye and ear protection, and clothing that fits an outdoor range and the weather that day. Not every range has drinking water or a restroom. Plan for that.
The range is your responsibility
If the instructor travels to you, you confirm the range is free to use during the block. Most indoor ranges do not allow a draw from the holster, do not allow movement while firing, and restrict ammunition. If you want an indoor range, check those rules before the day is booked.
Class size and time
More students in the same block means less one-on-one time. Courses run from about two hours to a full eight hours with breaks, so new information does not get piled on past the point of use.
Level 1 before level 2
A level-one course is a base, not a ticket to level two the next weekend. Practice until the skill is proficient on the gun you actually carry or keep. Students new to handguns or the AR platform should repeat entry courses rather than collect bad habits. Bad habits cost more range time to break than they cost to avoid.
